Miniatures I have made from kits & castings

A 1/4 scale Red wing Hit and miss engine . Original from the late 1800's   this I made from  limited rough castings and drawings most parts were raw steel stock or the castings some parts i had to design and make from scratch.

This engine runs. I designed and made a on demand valve that allows the engine to run on Propane.  (not so messy &  can run indoors very little fumes. Approx.  15"long X 12" high.  The flywheels are 8" in Diameter.   (still in my collection.)

Pully side.  note the glasses for scale.

Drawing for the on-demand propane valve.  Note the carburetor has to be slightly modified also.   and the small propane bottle has to have a regulator for the propane output.

This is a 4-4-0 Reno Live steam engine running on 350 feet of G-gage track in my back yard.   I assembled this locomotive from a kit by Astor of Japan.  very well-made kit fired by butane originally alcohol fired. I modified the burners.   It has forward and reverse.   (Sold)

The display for the Rino in my den

The controls in the cab showing the pressure gage & the throttle wheel .   On the tender is the water valve.

this is my 4-6-4 Hudson class 1, G gage live steam locomotive.  Which I built from an Astor kit made in Japan. Running on the track in the back yard.   It was Approx  3 feet long.  Fired by Propane.    (sold)
